Added: 30 August 2018
KIA have confirmed that there will be a brand new member to the Ceed family that will be unveiled on the 13th September ahead of its official public debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.
In a sneak-peek preview KIA have released a teaser sketch of the new model that looks set to be a five-door shooting brake variant of the brand new Ceed. The new model looks set to ease out the Ceed Sportswagon and instead take a more style focused approach.
New KIA Proceed
The model was first touched on last year during the Frankfurt Motor Show, with the Proceed concept and the Korean manufacturer have kept with the naming structure and it will now be used for the five-door shooting brake model, having previously been used for a hot hatch version of the three door.
The new Proceed will follow on from its predecessor and will be introduced alongside a performance-focussed GT model. Although engine options haven’t been confirmed, we predict that a tuned version of the 1.6 litre turbo, which will develop in excess of 200bhp could be installed within the GT version.
New KIA Proceed Engines
Back to the standard Proceed there will be an abundance of both petrol and diesel versions available for you to choose from. The versatile range will provide options for those looking for a blend of performance whilst keeping a firm eye on efficiency. The Proceed will be the beneficiary of the same engine line up on the sister Ceed. That means there will be a refined version of KIA’s turbocharged 1.0 litre engine which produces 118bhp. This will line-up alongside a new 1.4 litre petrol engine that develops 98bhp and a slightly beefier version of the same engine that boasts 138bhp.
The Ceed family is set to extend even further in 2019 with the introduction of an SUV that will sit between the Stonic and Sportage within the KIA line-up.
Exciting things are coming out of KIA in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled on the Paris Motor Show for more information on the brand new Proceed, or get in touch with our team today to register your interest.
