With October closely approaching and the autumn season crunching down on our summer fun, its essential you find some events you can look forward to through the darkening days and gloomy weather. Here are some local car events over the next year that you need to put in your diary!

Loch Ness Classic & Vintage Car Tour 2017 – Inverness Charity Tour

If you’re free next Saturday 7th October, you can spend your day at the Loch Ness Classic and Vintage Car event. It is organised by the Rotary Club of Inverness Loch Ness, with an aim to raise £10,000 which will go to RNLI and the Rotary clubs selected charities. The annual event allows all car lovers to enter any classic or vintage car to join the driving tour which takes drivers through a 150 mile route of the Highlands, near to where Dicksons is based. Scottish Championship Car Racing – Scotland’s Annual Car Race

Scotland’s racing event of the season will take place on Sunday 8th October and is organised by the SMRC (Scottish Motor Racing Club). The event has a wide range of car classes to ensure the event is an action-packed day of entertainment on the perfect Knockhill track. Drivers compete to win racing awards in 18 races, where you can watch from the side-line as the jam-packed programme plays out. Tartan Tarmac Breakfast – Monthly Car Meet Up

This breakfast meet is organised by Tartan Tarmac, Scotland’s most popular website for motoring enthusiasts. This meet is part a monthly event, scheduled next for Sunday 29th October, where car enthusiasts gather to share their passion for cars - from 1950s trucks to brand new supercars, all vehicles are welcomed! So if you don’t mind a drive to Motherwell, and want to spend a morning talking about cars over food and drink, then this event is for you.

Inverness Classic Vehicle Show – Local, Fun Car Show

This local Inverness car event is held in May each year and is free for all spectators. The show takes place in a variety of venues in the city centre, with previous locations including Church Street, the High Street, and Inverness Castle. A range of entertainment can be expected during the day, including musicians and street entertainers, so all your family will be entertained as you watch the procession of vehicles parade by. The Scottish Car Show – Fun-filled Weekend Event

The Scottish Car show is an action packed July weekend event, hosted in Edinburgh. The annual event will be seeing its 14th year birthday, and can be expected to hold an array of attractions, including; drift experiences, face painting, a kid’s zone, army talks, a petting zoo, and much more. Fortrose and Rosemarkie Classic Vehicle Rally – Local Car Get Together

Every year one of the biggest car rallies in the surrounding area of Inverness, to celebrate classic vehicles. The 2018 rally will take place on Saturday 25th August on the shores of the inner Moray Firth, so you can schedule it into your diary today! The event allows entries of all types of quirky and classic vehicles, whether it’s a hippy campervan, or a 1958 Aston Martin, you can enter your motor to be judged or raced. On top of that, there is a fun evening of entertainment for all entrants, so after the day’s excitement is over, you can unwind with the setting sun.
