Suzuki Named the UK's Most Reliable Car Brand in What Car? 2026 Reliability Survey

Suzuki has been named the UK's most reliable car brand in the 2026 What Car? Reliability Survey, achieving an impressive reliability score of 97.8% and taking first place ahead of 29 other manufacturers.

Suzuki Takes the Top Spot for Reliability
The annual What Car? Reliability Survey, conducted in association with MotorEasy, looks beyond manufacturer promises to examine the real-world experiences of motorists. The latest survey gathered responses from more than 39,300 What Car? readers, covering 30 manufacturers and 225 different car models aged up to five years old. Owners were asked about faults experienced with their vehicles, including how serious the problems were, how long repairs took and how much they cost.
Suzuki came out on top with a reliability score of 97.8%, moving up from third place in the previous survey. Even more impressively, the brand recorded the lowest overall fault rate of any manufacturer, at just 10%. Demonstrating that most issues were minor, all the affected cars could still be driven, and half of them were fixed in a day or less. All reported faults on Suzuki vehicles were repaired free of charge.
That's a pretty reassuring result for anyone considering a Suzuki as their next car.
Suzuki Swift Achieves a Perfect Reliability Score
It's not just Suzuki as a brand that's impressing the experts. Individual models also performed exceptionally well in the latest survey.
The previous-generation Suzuki Swift (2017–2024) achieved a perfect reliability score of 100%, putting it equal first in the supermini category. That means none of the Swift owners included in the survey reported experiencing a fault with their vehicle.
Meanwhile, the Suzuki Vitara also delivered an excellent result, achieving a reliability score of 97.6% in the small SUV category. That's comfortably ahead of the class average of 91.7%.
