The award-winning Nissan Ariya is back for 2026 with a range of thoughtful updates designed to make electric driving even more effortless for drivers across the Highlands and Islands.

At Dicksons of Inverness Nissan, we know our customers need an EV that feels just as comfortable tackling the NC500, commuting into town or heading further afield to Aberdeen, Glasgow or beyond. The latest Ariya continues to deliver on that brief with enhanced comfort, improved technology and a refreshed design inspired by Japanese minimalism.

A More Refined Look for 2026

The 2026 Ariya builds on Nissan’s “Timeless Japanese Futurism” design philosophy with a cleaner, sharper front-end appearance and newly designed alloy wheels available in both 19-inch and 20-inch options.

A new Plasma Green paint finish joins the colour range, bringing an eye-catching new option inspired by natural light phenomena. Inside, the Ariya’s lounge-like cabin has become even more practical thanks to a redesigned centre console with additional storage and an upgraded 15W wireless phone charger.

The result is an EV that still feels premium and futuristic, while becoming even more usable for everyday family life.

Smarter EV Technology for Everyday Driving

One of the biggest updates comes in the form of the latest-generation NissanConnect system with Google built-in.

Drivers can now simply say “Hey Google” to start navigation, find destinations or control key vehicle features. Even more impressively, Google Maps can intelligently plan charging stops along your route based on your live battery level.

For Highland drivers covering longer distances, this could make journeys significantly easier. Whether you’re heading north towards Caithness, west to Fort William or south on the A9, the Ariya can automatically prepare the battery for rapid charging before you arrive at a charging station - helping reduce charging times when every minute matters.

The NissanConnect Services app also allows owners to:

  • Monitor battery levels remotely
  • Start or manage charging sessions
  • Pre-condition the cabin temperature
  • Check tyre pressures from their smartphone

An EV Built for Long-Distance Comfort

Anyone who has driven Highland roads knows ride comfort matters.

For 2026, Nissan has updated the Ariya’s suspension tuning to improve stability, reduce vibration and deliver an even smoother driving experience over longer journeys.

Selected models also gain enhanced driver assistance systems designed to help reduce fatigue in stop-start traffic, automatically assisting with acceleration, braking and maintaining safe distances from vehicles ahead.

Whether it’s daily commuting around Inverness or longer motorway journeys further south, the Ariya is designed to make electric driving feel calm, quiet and effortless.

Faster Charging and Vehicle-to-Load Capability

The updated Ariya also benefits from improved charging functionality, including:

  • 11kW AC charging capabilit
  • Up to 130kW DC rapid charging
  • Available Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality

V2L allows compatible electrical devices to be powered directly from the vehicle while stationary, with outputs of up to 3,700W on selected models.

That could prove especially useful for camping trips, outdoor adventures or even as a temporary back-up power source — something many Highland customers may appreciate given the rural areas we serve.

Electric Driving That Fits Highland Life

The Nissan Ariya has already established itself as one of the most refined electric crossovers on the road and the 2026 model takes that even further. With smarter technology, improved comfort and a more polished design, it continues to offer a compelling alternative for drivers considering the switch to electric.
