How do I know when my tyres need replacing?

UK law requires a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, but we recommend replacement at 3mm for optimal safety in wet Scottish conditions.

Warning signs to look out for include visible cracks or bulges in the sidewall, uneven wear patterns, age (tyres older than 5 to 7 years regardless of tread depth), loss of air pressure, or poor wet weather grip.

Our free tyre health checks at our Inverness service centre can assess your tyres' condition and advise on replacement timing.
