What is tyre balancing, and do I need it when fitting new tyres?

Tyre balancing ensures the weight of the tyre and wheel is distributed evenly around the axle. An unbalanced tyre can cause vibration through the steering wheel, uneven wear, and increased stress on suspension components. Balancing is carried out as standard when we fit new tyres at Dicksons. It’s a quick process and is included as part of our fitting service. If you’re experiencing vibration on your existing tyres, it may also be worth having them re-balanced.
