What is the Motability Scheme, and am I eligible?
The Motability Scheme helps disabled people and their families access new vehicles by using their qualifying mobility allowance to lease a car.
You're eligible if you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), or War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement (WPMS), with at least 12 months remaining on your award.

What does the Motability package include?
Your Motability lease through Dicksons includes the vehicle itself plus comprehensive insurance for up to three named drivers, breakdown assistance available 24/7 across the UK, servicing and maintenance at our Inverness service centre, replacement tyres when required, windscreen repair or replacement, annual MOT testing, full vehicle tax (VED), and 60,000 miles over the three-year lease period.
Vehicle adaptations are also included at no extra cost where required. This all-inclusive package provides complete peace of mind for worry-free motoring across the Highlands.

How do I apply for a Motability car at Dicksons?
Applying for a Motability vehicle at Dicksons of Inverness is straightforward. Contact our Motability specialists to arrange an initial consultation where we discuss your requirements and eligible vehicles. We will encourage you to visit our Telford Retail Park showroom to test drive suitable models on real Highland roads.
Our specialists will assess any adaptation requirements and provide quotations. We then manage all paperwork and submit your application to Motability Operations. Once approved, we arrange the collection of your new adapted vehicle from our Inverness showroom, along with a full handover and explanation of all features.

Can I nominate other drivers on my Motability vehicle?
Yes, the Motability Scheme allows you to nominate up to two additional named drivers who can operate the vehicle on your behalf. These named drivers are fully covered under the comprehensive insurance included in your lease package, ensuring complete family mobility.
This flexibility is particularly valuable in Highland locations where shared driving responsibilities help manage longer journeys and challenging weather conditions. Named drivers can be changed during the lease period if required, subject to Motability Operations approval.
